How did this trip come about?

Here we are Monday 26th August 2013, only 2 weeks away from our departure to our 2 months stay in Bali. It all started with us wanting to spend more time together, have adventures together, create strong and unique experiences and memories together, and our solution was to change careers by setting-up our own business, more specifically a cafe' / bakery! After having spent months and months on thinking and finally registering the most amazing business name, wording the most fantastic business plan ever written, presenting it to the bank for finance, and having found what we thought to be the perfect location... it came to a grinding halt when the landlord indicated no cafe' can be served at these premises. Well, we picked ourselves back up, kept looking and asking the right questions (having learnt from the first experience) and the more we looked, the more we realised: This is not the right time! Lease/rent prices are through the roof, the economy as a whole is either on the brink of collapse or not going to do anything exciting any time soon, hence why commit our hard earned money when the outlook is far from positive? Obviously the air of independence had already wooed us, we were hooked on the idea of being in control of our own lives and thought: "What the heck! It's now or never, we're handing in our resignations and off to Bali for 2months!" Et voila', appartment was found, cheap air-fares too, out came the credit card and the trip was confirmed! This blog was born from wanting to keep a log book of our adventure, for our own benefit but also for friends and family to follow us on our journey. We are now counting the days till we will be standing at that departure lounge and taking off!!!
